FAQ - Pony Beads

Why are they called pony beads?

The first beads used in embroideries by plains Indians became known as "pony beads." They got their name while white merchants transported them on horses or ponies.

What are pony beads?

They are plastic beads in the form of a barrel or a donut. They are famous for a variety of crafts, such as kid's bead projects and Kandi cuffs. Also, they are easy to grasp and string with a cord due to their 6x9mm size and wide holes.

How to make pony bead bracelets?

First, you will need yourself a pack of beads. So go check it out! You have found it? Nice, now go get yourself a matching color pack of elastic threads. Still here? Great, now if you want to upgrade your Kandi cuff you can add some of our wild custom beads. At this time you should have everything. Now just follow these steps to make your pony craft beads;

Step 1: With the help of our elastic cords and scissors, cut a piece of elastic string of about 22 cm. This will be your base for your Kandi bracelet.

Step 2: Take out your different types of pony beads; multicolor, glitter, opaque, pastel, clear. Choose the ones that best fit your idea bracelet and assemble it. We recommend using 27 units for a medium-sized wrist.

Step 3: When the bracelet is assembled, make a knot to close it and join the two ends.

Step 4: Cut with scissors the ends of the knot so that they do not exceed your Kandi bracelet.
