September Highlights
September: You Had to Be There 👀
SEPTEMBER was nothing short of “legend”-ary for the Krew! ✨ From our favorite stop of the year at Legend Valley for Lost Lands Music Festival to becoming Nocturnal creatures at Glen Helen, this month was packed with unforgettable adventures.
After following the yellow brick road straight from Dancefestopia, we made our way through some seriously magical festival moments. And we can’t forget about The Windy City absolutely BLOWING us away at North Coast Music Festival earlier this month!
From coast to coast, September kept the Krew moving, dancing, and making memories ✨🍭
Rain or Shine, the Hunt Was ON 🥚🦖
This year, we brought back our Lost Lands x BassHeadBeads Egg Hunt, and you guys went CRAZY for it! 🦖🥚✨
The BHB team took over Legend Valley, hiding over 100 custom dino eggs throughout the festival grounds for attendees to hunt down - including some brand-new eggs added to the mix this year! Each one was packed with a little surprise, making the hunt one of the most exciting ways to explore Lost Lands and spread some prehistoric PLUR. 🦕🍬
Even with the weather throwing us a curveball, the hunt went on, and you guys SHOWED UP! With 100+ eggs hidden throughout Legend Valley, the real question is: who managed to find one?! 👀🥚
Spooky, Sparkly & PLUR-fect 🎃✨
Spooky Season is OFFICIALLY HERE, and we cannot wait for all the October drops and festivities to begin! 🎃✨
Don’t forget to stock up on festive beads, Halloween colors, hats, and all the accessories you need to take your rave costumes to the next level. Whether you’re creating a spooky kandi masterpiece, putting together the perfect festival fit, or adding those final touches that make your look stand out, Kandies World has everything you need to make this Halloween season extra magical, colorful, and PLUR-fect. 👻🍬
Kandi Krew Members of the Month: Teanna & Jon 💞
This month, we are highlighting one of our favorite Kandies Couples, Teanna and Jon! 💕 As District Managers of our PNW region, this powerhouse duo has traveled with us all across the U.S. and Canada, bringing their passion, creativity, and PLUR energy wherever they go.
When they aren’t holding it down at festivals, they’re behind the scenes creating some of our favorite Kandies pieces, including custom harnesses, cuffs, perlers, and so much more! The Krew also celebrated their recent engagement at Bass Canyon, where we got to ring in this exciting new chapter with them and shower this Kandies Couple with all the love they deserve. 💍✨
Their creativity and dedication have made them such an important part of the Krew, and we’re so lucky to have them representing Kandies World both on the road and behind the craft table 🫶. Get to know the powerhouse duo behind the booth, the crafts, and some unforgettable festival memories!
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH KANDIES?
Teanna: I’ve been with KW for over a year! I started in April of last year, and my first show was Sullivan King at WAMU.
Jon: My first show was Dancefestopia last year!
WHEN DID YOU GET INTO CRAFTING WITHIN THE EDM COMMUNITY?
WHERE IT ALL STARTED 🫶
We started crafting before we joined KW. It started with making special perlers and kandi for our friends for every show we would attend. A couple of years ago, we even started an Etsy shop where we began taking custom perler orders.
FROM CRAFTING TO KANDIES WORLD ✨
That’s actually how we started with KW! We originally joined the team to make perlers, but after working the booth, we found so much more love for the community and for being part of the vendor family.
We really wanted to combine our love for crafting with vending, and we were a big part of the push with Eric to create the Crafters Program. We found that so many people wanted fresh, handmade accessories, and from there, the ideas just kept flowing!
WHAT DO YOU GUYS HOPE TO BRING TO THE COMMUNITY?
REPRESENTATION & ACCEPTANCE 🫶🏽
Our biggest thing we hope to bring to the community is representation and acceptance. There are a lot of parents in the EDM community that people sometimes forget about. With that, we’re also bringing in the newest generation of ravers, who need to see that this is a safe space they’re coming into.
TEACHING THE NEXT GENERATION PLUR 🌈
Teaching them PLUR at a young age is about more than just playing EDM music around them. It’s a responsibility to make sure they understand the community before reaching their teenage years. A lot of people have no guidance when entering this lifestyle and can confuse it with a “no-rules spring break.”
SHOWING UP AS YOUR AUTHENTIC SELF ❤️
There are also a lot of minorities within the EDM community who aren’t always represented in ravewear advertising. As African American, Hispanic, and Indigenous people, it’s amazing to be able to simply show up as our authentic selves, feel completely accepted within the community, and not have to fit into any box that typical society puts us in.
This community has really given us the freedom to become our truest selves, and that is the feeling we want people to have after meeting us or visiting Kandies World. 🫶🏽 We want people to feel seen, feel accepted, and feel comfortable being themselves!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE EVENT TO WORK?
BASS CANYON 🏔️💍
Our favorite festival is Bass Canyon! Yes, we are biased. LOL. The Gorge is our favorite venue—even after traveling the world! It has some of the best amenities for both vendors and attendees, and Excision’s production speaks for itself.
Not to mention, we got engaged at Bass Canyon this past summer! 🤭💍
EDC LAS VEGAS 🎡✨
EDC Las Vegas was always a DREAM bucket-list festival that we thought we wouldn’t get to attend for years. Thanks to the company, we were able to experience it from a vendor’s perspective! The hours were crazy, but the team was a viiibe.
DANCEFESTOPIA 🌈
Dancefestopia in Kansas was another favorite. The lineup was amazing, there was such a strong sense of community, and there were so many things to do. The obstacle course and kayaking were next level!
This is definitely one we’d love to bring our kids to—it gave us similar vibes to Okeechobee.
FVDED IN THE PARK 🇨🇦
And finally, FVDED in the Park in Vancouver! It was another great venue, but the beach after-vibes were definitely a highlight. ❤️
Where to find us in October 🧡📍
Spooky SZN is officially in full swing, and the Krew is ready to keep the Halloween energy going! We have a STACKED October ahead, with stops at Hulaween, Get Freaky, SCREAM, BOO!, and Escape on the calendar. 🕸️🍬
The costumes are coming out, the kandi is getting spooky, and we’re ready for a month full of late nights, festival magic, and plenty of PLUR. Keep an eye out for the Krew at a festival near you… you never know where we’ll pop up next! 👀🖤
